FSCs must be razor-sharp in three key areas - their attitude towards people and work; skills and knowledge; and possess team spiritedness.

Knowledge and Skill
Technical workshops, motivational seminars, personal development courses and financial planning courses (CFP, CLU, ChFC, etc.) help Financial Services Consultants learn about *estate duty, tax issues and planning for debt, investment and insurance to advise their clients .

Career Path
Most FSCs build lifelong careers in this industry and the career path can go one or two ways - either in providing financial planning and advice to his/her clients; or embarking on the management path to develop, train and supervise people.
